Setting Up A Community Blog

These are the instructions for setting up your community blog on wordpress.

  • The Theme

This one of the most important parts of your community blog. Theres a few very specific functions needed, and with out theme your community blog wont function nearly as smooth as with these functions. With that said, I have the magic theme! And although you may not like its design/colours… It does the job 100% with no issues!

Install “Magasin Uno 1.0″ theme into your wordpress blog and activate it. You can download the theme from these places Here & Here

  • Customizing The Theme

1 - (a)Go to widgets, and make “recent comments” the 1st option in your widget list bar. (b) Change the recent comments setting to allow the maximum amount of comments to show. This is done right on the recent comments box in the widget area. (c) Then add whatever ells you want there, but also add a Blogroll. So you can add the links of the other blog owners.

2 – Pages. You will need several pages. 1. a page for the men (chat with girls) and on that page tell them what they get for joining, and provide the link for them to join. 2. a page for the girls. Tell them how they can promote their websites and chat with guys looking for what their offering by joining. Provide the same join link. 3. & 4 a login and register page. these two pages will require you to get the link REDIRECT plugin so that when you make those 2 pages, when someone clicks on them they dont go to the page, rather are redirected to the register and login page.

3 – Sidebar, The side bar also has a box with advertisements. This cant be changed from your widget area. So you need to go to Appearance – editor – side bar. Locate the spot where the advertisements are. Just replace the links with whatever links you want, and replace the url to point to the graphics you want there.

4 – Index graphic. On the main page there is a big graphic with some text. This is actually a post. You will want to make a category name, and write ONE post to that category name. In Custom fields you will add this “paddimage-gallery” and upload your index graphic through the add image option where you write your posts. Then copy and paste the URL from that area and add it in the custom fields area. Please view your Readme file that came with the wp theme for better instructions on this. (This will serve as part of your blogs design, so you will need to monitor all the posts that you approve and make sure you deselect that category before publishing your members posts. If any other posts get published to that category you will lose that graphic)

This category has to be a certain number… I know my instructions are not 100% clear… please see your readme file from the theme

5 – Other. Okay most of you should be fairly comfortable with wordpress, and should already know where and how to edit your blog name and your seo settings. Dont forget to do those.

6 – Links. go and delete the standard links added in your theme, and begin to add all the links of other community blogs in this traffic project. You can find the links you need to add here. For those in the NF Friendly part of the project be sure your only adding blogs that are NFF (NiteFlirt Friendly) In the descriptions of the sites on that list, the NFF sites should have this (NFF) in their descriptions.

For those in the Adult Community Blog part of the traffic, which is the same thing only not NFF, you will look for the sites who have (Not-NFF) in their descriptions and add all of those links in your blog rolls.

7 – Adding this site to your blog roll. Do add this site to your blog roll. It will serve as a hub for blog owners, and participators. Please add “http://www.pinkpowerproductions.com” to your blog roll using the words “Adult Community Blogs” or “Adult Blogs”

8 – Add your link to this site. Click Here to add your site to the directory so other blog owners can find you, and site visitors can find you as well.

If your doing a NiteFlirt Friendly community blog… at the end of your description please add (NFF) to your site description.

If your site is NOT NFF, and please add (Not-NFF) to the end of your description when adding your site in the directory.

9 – SEOing - Please try to SEO your website so that is specific to the domain/topic, and does not step on the toes of anyone ells you are networking in this project with.

10 – Function Settings. In your blog click settings, and under generalMembership – make sure “anyone can register” is selected. Under that it sets the roles of registered users… make sure you set New User Default Role to Contributor.

Under Settings again, click discussion and make sure you select the following so they are active/enabled. Other Comment Settings – User Must Be Registered To Comment (this should eliminate ALL spam) Then look for Before A Comment Appears – and select An administrator must always approve the comment.

There may be other things selected there too, thats fine leave them.
